Cleanest Railway Station

[edit]

While most established editors will agree that adding this content is just not notable and not encyclopedic at all, there is one very persistent user NEETHIARASU ARUNACHALAM (talk · contribs) who is adamant on adding the same despite explaining to them on notability and that wikipedia is an encyclopedia. The user seems to be persistent in adding what they feel is right rather than sticking to policies.  LeoFrank  Talk 08:24, 24 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed content does not qualify inclusion per WP:NOT, but NEETHIARASU ARUNACHALAM (talk · contribs) is adamant in adding them back out of insanity. They seem to show lack of understanding towards policies and fail to listen when being educated. So, for now, if this user restores and messes up the article again, please do revert these edits. Thanks,  LeoFrank  Talk 14:04, 26 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
all allegations against me are baseless allegations, because of having difference of opinion with me leo frank is destroying all the informations about Madurai railway station. I kindly request all administrators to stop leo frank, else he will delete the entire article about Madurai railway station. I am not worried whether the information provided by me is added to the article or not, but at least the contributions of other people should not be taken out from the article.

@NEETHIARASU ARUNACHALAM: Exactly, they are baseless allegations which is why your edits were reverted by another editor here.  LeoFrank  Talk 14:31, 26 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The problem with all the information that was recently added -- First, the Facilities section: The paragraph reads like an advertisement and is not supported by any sources. The bullet point list below qualifies as excessive detail. For example: The point about it having a restaurant that is vegetarian and non-vegetarian. This is information one would find in a travel guide, and I think that's why LeoFrank mentioned the guideline WP:NOT above; it specifically advices to avoid such details. I can't comment on the rest because I'm not well versed in articles on places. Eik Corell (talk) 16:31, 26 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Passenger numbers

[edit]

User:DrIrshath has changed the passengers field of Template:Infobox station from "1,50,000/day" to "50,000/day". There is no citation for either figure. This edit could be an attempt to correct a typo by an editor who is unfamiliar with the Indian numbering system. The Wikipedia:Manual of Style/India-related articles says "Comma-delimited numbers should always be written in the Western style (e.g., 30,000,000; not 3,00,00,000)."

Either figure is credible: London Waterloo station has about 100,000,000 passengers annually (an average of 274,000 per day), and it is only the 91st busiest in the world [1].

User:DrIrshath, do you have a source for your figure? If so then please cite it. Verbcatcher (talk) 17:25, 14 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
